This is only an issue for a subset of dialects. - Farsi and Vietnamese translations are not available for the installer. - If you install under a custom path, there might be issues with repairing. A workaround for this is to manually stop the AXIS Camera Station services in Task Manager. - Client Switch from a client older than 5.54 where the username contains a blank space, e.g. "Axis Admin", to a server installed using MSI will fail. These clients will have to be manually updated. - When using a client that was installed using MSI in a custom install directory, and trying to connect to a remote server of a different version, the client is unable to switch to the correct version and cannot connect to the server. - The MSI does not support Advertise (msiexec /j). Will be solved in 5.41. =================================================================================================== New features in 5.39.334 ========================= * Smart search 2 - Public Preview - Smart search 2 Preview in AXIS Camera Station enables searching for recordings related to motion detections from Axis cameras. Detections are post-processed on demand when searching to enrich detection with classification (type, colors, etc.), and to enable additional search filters. Select the cameras to send analytics metadata to Smart search 2 Preview in Configuration. Limited support. Limitations: - The user interface is currently only available in English. - Metadata will only be recorded after enabling smart search 2. Hence historic data is not searchable. - High or very variable network latency can cause time synchronization issue and affect classification of detections based on analytics metadata. - Continuous recording is recommended. Using motion detection triggered recordings will result in detections without video recordings. - Record only a single stream. Smart search currently uses the lowest available video quality for classification. - Classification of object types and detection accuracy will be negatively affected by low image quality due to high compression levels or by weather conditions such as heavy rain or snow, low resolution, cameras with heavy distortion, large field of view, excessive vibrations, non-moving objects are not detected, small and distant objects might not be detected. - Make sure that the lighting conditions are within the camera specification. Use additional lighting if needed. Color classification will not work in darkness or with IR illumination. - Only cameras with a single video channel are supported. Cameras, video encoders with multiple channels, mirrored or cropped camera streams are not supported. - Body worn cameras are not supported. - Object classification is not supported for thermal cameras. - Each time a PTZ preset position changes, the application needs to recalibrate. Filters by area and line crossing for PTZ cameras only work for fixed views when the camera does not move around. * Access management import -Add - It is possible to import a .csv with cardholders and groups that will add on the existing database. Note that duplicates in existing database and import file will result in an import failure. * Door icons in maps - It is possible to pull in door icons into a map giving door status in a nice overview. Requires TLS 1.2. Limitations when connecting over Secure Remote Access: - 5.38 clients has both TLS 1.0 and 1.2 so they can initiate connection to systems of higher AND lower versions. - 5.38 server has both TLS 1.0 and 1.2 so clients older AND newer can initiate connection. - Clients with 5.37 and lower cannot initiate connection to server with 5.39 and above. Error message `No contact with the server computer...` - Clients with 5.39 and up cannot initiate connection to server with 5.37 and below. Error message `Unable to communicate with the server.` * Solved an issue where video motion detection application would be automatically installed on radars. * Improved tooltips on decline/ignore call buttons. * Solved an issue where in rare occasions some recordings couldn't be exported. * Added pinning logic for certificate. The first time a client connects to a server, it will remember the servers' certificate. - On subsequent connections, if the server presents a different certificate from the one that is pinned, a warning will be displayed in the UI. - The warning can be explicitly ignored, in which case the pinned certificate is forgotten, and you can still connect. * Solved a crash that may occurred while removing a camera with failover recordings being fetched at the same time. * Improved stability of third-party devices, related to third-party devices sending unexpected RTP packets. * Solved an issue where some devices that has limited VAPIX support could cause a server crash. * Solved an issue that caused recording gaps in AXIS S3008 fallback recordings. * No license is required for AXIS S3008, AXIS T85 or prerecorded video. * AXIS Camera Station API updated to version 2.14. Instead, the hardware recommendation is based on the total bandwidth per server. - For more information read the hardware guidelines: http://www.axis.com/products/axis-camera-station/hardware-guidelines/system ====================================================================================== Current Known limitations ====================================================================================== ACAP: * AXIS Video Content Stream (Automatically uploaded by AXIS Camera Station during Add camera wizard) should not run in parallel with AXIS Perimeter Defender due to performance limitation. Make sure AXIS Video Content Stream is "stopped” or not installed in the camera web interface > Applications. Asset list: * Only Axis desktops terminal will be included in the Asset list export file (AXIS S90, S91 and S92) * Only the desktop terminal that the asset register file is exported from will be included in the Asset list export file. Audio: * Audio output to camera is only supported from firmware 5.10 * Only "push-to-talk" is supported in AXIS Camera Station for AXIS M1065-L/LW (the camera does not support full duplex mode). * LPCM audio encoding is not supported in AXIS Camera Station * Push-to-talk for half duplex mode: - If there are two views of the same device in the split view, and both are selected, the hotkey for push-to-talk/speak will request to speak to that device twice, which may cause some errors. - If someone calls from a door station while voice communication is already in progress, the door station will get stuck calling, while the call is still ongoing. Automatic NTP configuration of devices: * Not all third-party devices support setting NTP configuration. When AXIS Camera Station cannot set the configuration on an ONVIF device, a warning message will be added to the server debug log. * Configuration of time zone is not part of the NTP protocol and will not be updated when synchronizing a device clock against an NTP server. AXIS Camera Station will not set any time zone in devices automatically, because the time zones supported by the camera firmware might be different from the time zone used on the AXIS Camera Station server. * If a device used in AXIS Camera Station is unable to send network requests to the AXIS Camera Station server (for example if the camera is located on an external network and the AXIS Camera Station server is hidden behind a NAT configuration), the default NTP configuration will not work. This should be a rare system configuration for AXIS Camera Station, but if it is used, the Advanced Server setting "Enable NTP configuration" should be disabled. * If another firewall than the built-in Windows firewall is used on the AXIS Camera Station server, an exception for port UDP 123 must be configured manually AXIS Secure Remote Access: * Servers that appear in the Remote Server drop-down list cannot be deleted after they have been successfully added to Secure Remote Access. * Due to a limitation, some special symbols are currently not supported in the MyAxis account password in AXIS Camera Station, although they are supported on www.axis.com - MyAxis password containing the following special symbols are considered invalid in Axis Camera Station: £ ¤ Å Ä Ö * Secure Remote Access servers are not displayed in the server selection dropdown when using a Client version lower than 5.12 AXIS Camera Station Secure Entry: * Optimized for resolution 1920x1080 and scale set to 100%. * Doors and door actions are not available in the mobile app. * Changing language is not fully supported. Set the correct language in the installation phase. * Secure Entry pages not showing after changing the server name. Please contact https://www.axis.com/support/helpdesk for help. * Replacing a schedule under Access Management zone configuration requires removal of the old schedule, save and reopen the zone before applying a new schedule. * Long access time does not work if identification type is configured as "card only" and cardholder has a duress pin configured. * Name changes of an access rule might not affect an action rule triggering on the access rule filter under device event. * Pre-Alarm warning under Device event/Door open too long in AXIS Camera Station action rules has no effect. * Having multiple Access Management tabs opened on several clients could potentially cause a mismatch of newly added data. Recommend to only use one Access Management tab at a time. * The confirmation dialog before entering Lockdown state will only be displayed in the Dashboard tab, while assistance options (manually Unlock, Lock and Access door) will be disabled. There is no confirmation dialog in the Transaction tab. * Changing cardholder group information in the Cardholder tab will not update the information properly:Please use the Group tab to edit content. * Editing the Identification type of a door is considered to be a reconfiguration of a door and will put it in locked state, hence a manually unlocked door will be locked. * Requirement: To use the Intercom as an IP Reader, HTTPS must be enabled on the Intercom as well as on the Door controller. AXIS Camera Station Smart Search 2: * Metadata will only be recorded after enabling Smart search 2. Hence historic data is not searchable. * High or very variable network latency can cause time synchronization issue and affect classification of detections based on analytics metadata. * Continuous recording is recommended. Using motion detection triggered recordings will result in detections without video recordings. * Classification of object types and detection accuracy will be negatively affected by low image quality due to high compression levels or by weather conditions such as heavy rain or snow, low resolution, cameras with heavy distortion, large field of view, excessive vibrations, non-moving objects are not detected, small and distant objects might not be detected. * Make sure that the lighting conditions are within the camera specification. Use additional lighting if needed. Color classification will not work in darkness or with IR illumination. * Body worn cameras are not supported. * Object classification is not supported for thermal cameras. * Each time a PTZ preset position changes, the application needs to recalibrate. Filters by area and line crossing for PTZ cameras only work for fixed views when the camera does not move around. For cameras with view areas, only the primary view area is supported and the view area must not be cropped. Mirrored or cropped camera streams are not supported. Area and Line crossing camera filters for PTZ cameras will only work as expected for fixed views (i.e., when not moving around). Cameras must support streaming analytics metadata over RTSP (a.k.a. MOTE). For cameras with firmware version lower than 9.60, the AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) app AXIS Video Content Stream (Metadata) is required (can be installed by AXIS Camera Station). High or very variable network latency may affect classification since it leads to time synchronization issues when classifying detections in snapshots based on analytics metadata. There are known issues with classifying detections like truck, pickup or van as vehicles. There are known issues when classifying the vehicle type or vehicle color of detections with no suitable type. There are known issues when classifying clothing colors. Unknown behavior using cameras with heavy distortion or large field of view. Unknown behavior at night, in darkness or with IR cameras. There are known issues related to high resource utilization on the AXIS Camera Station client when previewing video. There are known issues with MOTE triggering for irrelevant movement (e.g., trees moving in the wind, rain). Low video quality or resolution may affect classification. Smart search 2 is not yet fully replacing smart search 1. In the AXIS Camera Station client, navigate to Configuration > Client > Settings and toggle show smart search 1 to use the old smart search 1 tab. Smart search 2 can only search in metadata as made available when enabling cameras in Smart search 2 settings, hence historic data is not searchable. There are known issues with motion triggered recording. There may be detections in Smart search 2 even if there is no recording. Continuous recording is recommended. If camera rotation is changed in AXIS Camera Assistant (ACA), the camera needs to be restarted in order for the changes to be applied in Smart search 2. Smart search 2 can only present up to 1000000 detections. There are known issues with missed detections for cameras using analytics with deep learning (i.e. M4308-PLE, P3255-LVE, Q1615 Mk III, Q1715 or any ARTPEC-8 device) if the firmware version is lower than 10.11. There are known issues with duplicate detections for cameras with firmware version 10.10 and above if using multiple metadata producers. AXIS Camera Station System Health Monitoring – Public Beta: * Storage: Used space for cameras connected to AXIS S3008 is not supported * Inactivated storage devices will be visible and gathered data kept for up to 2 weeks. * Notification settings only affects local System Health Monitoring server * Accessing System Health Monitoring in Axis Camera Station requires Administrator permissions * Retention warnings do not support motion detection recordings * Recordings created with other means (Manual/Events etc) than "continuous” or "motion detection” are flagged with "Recording type: None” * Limited support. Check known limitations before setup. * No support for HTTPS, IEEE 802.1X or certificates Camera settings: * Cameras using firmware 4.x can only use MPEG-4 for the High profile. The Medium and Low profile need to be set to MJPEG. This is due to camera performance limitations. Cyber Security: * Communication between AXIS Camera Station Client and Server over TCP use TLS 1.2: - AXIS Camera Station installations lower than or equal to 5.15.007 that support TLS 1.0 and 1.1, will not be able to connect via TCP to installations higher than or equal to 5.26. - AXIS Camera Station Clients lower than or equal to 5.15.007 connecting via TCP to ACS Server higher than or equal to 5.26, will get an error message: Unable to communicate with the server - AXIS Camera Station Clients higher than or equal to 5.26 connecting via TCP to ACS Server lower than or equal to 5.15.007, will get an error message: Wrong username or password. * Improved security by changing the key size of certificate between client and server from 1024 to 2048 bit: - On systems installed prior to 5.32 the key size of the certificate between client and server will remain 1024 bit even after upgrade. Export recordings: * For files exported into MP4 format only AAC-encoded audio will be included. * Exported MP4/Matroska files do not store additional metadata that can be used AXIS File Player (no split-view or timeline). Hostnames: - Only hostnames with digits and letters which are part of the ASCII standard character set are supported. Hot keys: * Navigate to View/Camera-hotkey is only active when a Live View or Recordings tab is opened and currently being shown. * Joystick, keypad and jog must be connected to the computer before starting AXIS Camera Station, otherwise AXIS Camera Station will not register inputs from those devices. * Keyboard keys that can be used as hotkeys are limited to a - z, A - Z, 0 - 9, and a few special keys such as "+" and "-". * Split in split is not supported by split view hotkeys. The split view hotkeys will only operate on the parent split view. I/O: * I/O will not work with AXIS 221, 240Q, 241QA/SA, 225FD, 216FD, 214PTZ or 207W unless they are upgraded to firmware 4.40 or higher. * I/O monitor may lock on "Changing..." when toggling output state in P8221. * During the nightly maintenance job, Action rules using I/O trigger with I/O module will trigger Alarms if set to normally closed: - Use the 'Device Event' trigger and trigger on the digital input instead of using I/O trigger, if possible. - Device Event is available from firmware 5.40 or higher and for I/O module firmware 1.65 or higher. - Older devices such as P8221 cannot use device events. - Please see more information at: https://www.axis.com/support/faq//FAQ116423 Multiselect in Configurations pages: * The settings will be greyed out if multi-selected cameras contain unreachable cameras - Using Ctrl + A will select all cameras including unreachable, and it is not possible to deselect them one by one. - Select only reachable camera using CTRL + click instead of CTRL + A * Image configuration: Image configuration do not support multi-channel cameras. All changes are applied to the first channel only. * Recording schedules: Will only apply for selected cameras located on the same server as the schedule. - This does not apply to the Always schedule which is present on all servers. Playback: * Seeking on the timeline of an H.264 recording gives an image of the closest preceding I-frame instead of showing the actual image at the chosen position. Storage: * If a network disk is configured in AXIS Camera Station, then afterwards physically removed from the network, there is a risk that the disk can't be removed from the AXIS Camera Station configuration. * In order to prevent Intruding Data on operating system drives (due to growing files and database backups), a 60GB margin has been added for those drives, instead of the former 15GB limit. Third-party: * H.265 is not supported for third-party devices. * Image configuration is not for third-party devices. * Input / output port management is not supported for third-party devices * Camera management is not supported for third-party devices * Audio support for third-party devices: G.711, one-way - from the device to AXIS Camera Station. * AXIS Installation Verifier: Not supported. * AXIS Camera Station System Health Monitoring: Not supported. * T8705 Decoder: Support for third-party devices is limited and largely untested. * Motion detection cannot be configured for third-party devices. For more information please see: https://www.axis.com/products/online-manual/34074#t10128936 Translation: * Action button and Action rule name that are automatically created by AXIS Camera Station are not translated. They can manually be change in the Action rule configuration to have the correct translation. Upgrade: * Versions prior to 4.31.018 cannot be upgraded directly with AXIS Camera Station 5.25. Upgrade to 5.24 before installing 5.25 or higher. * For the client to automatically log on the server again after the restart, the "Remember me" checkbox on the log on screen must have been checked when the server was logged on to last time. * The server needs to be fully licensed for the automatic reconnection to work. * Automatic Client upgrade is not available when trying to connect to a remote server using Secure Remote Access. - The Client won't be upgraded, and the following error message will be displayed: Download of new client installer failed. Unable to install the client version required in order to communicate with the chosen server. * The Axis Camera Station Client needs to be 5.05 or higher in order to beneficiate from the automatic reconnection. User permissions: * AXIS Camera Station 5.18 and higher display error message when adding or editing user permissions from users created in AXIS Camera Station 5.17 or lower. - Restart of the AXIS Camera Station server solves the issue. Video stitching for P3807-PVE: - Capture mode needs to be set to "forensic WDR (client dewarp)". - Limitation: Camera text overlays can be distorted when using video stitching. VMD 4 Multi-Sensor/Channel Devices: * From AXIS Camera Station it is only possible to edit the first VMD4 profile on each sensor/channel. - There is no support for other profiles that are configurable in the device webpage. - AXIS Camera Station will trigger on all profiles for the camera (sensor/channel) Windows related: * AXIS Camera Station will use the current regional settings from Windows but will not make use of any custom settings e.g. numeric separators etc. * For Windows 10 N editions: The Media Feature Pack is required to install AXIS Camera Station Server and Client: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack. - Installing the standalone Windows Media Player is not sufficient. Windows 10 N editions are not part of the official Axis QA testing. * Windows Server 2016 Core and Nano versions are not supported due to lack of Windows Media Player. * AXIS Camera Station client requires "Desktop Composition" to be enabled. Current limitation with other AXIS products ------------------------------------ AXIS Camera Station Mobile App: * Only H.264 and H.265 is supported. No support for MPEG-4 or MJPEG. * Not possible to connect to multiple servers simultaneously * Users with no export permissions can still export recordings in mobile apps. * No warning is displayed if the MyAxis account password has been changed. AXIS Body Worn solution: * Removing a virtual camera from AXIS Camera Station does not trigger the corresponding user to be removed from the AXIS Body Worn system (AXIS Body Worn manager), AXIS Camera Station will not accept any uploads for an AXIS Body Worn user without a corresponding virtual camera. * Removing a user in the AXIS Body Worn system does not trigger the corresponding virtual camera to be removed from AXIS Camera Station. * Live view is not supported by AXIS Body Worn cameras and will display "Not supported by the camera" if selected. * Renaming a body warn camera in AXIS Camera Station will not affect the name of the user in the AXIS Body Worn system. * Removing a physical AXIS Body Worn camera in the AXIS Body Worn manager currently has a ten-minute delay before being removed from the license system in AXIS Camera Station. AXIS File Player: * Multitrack view playback in AXIS File Player requires exported recording from AXIS Camera Station version 5.05 or above. * Exported MP4/Matroska files do not store additional metadata that can be used AXIS File Player (no split-view or timeline). AXIS T83: * Keypad backlight control is disabled since AXIS Camera Station verion 5.23.107 AXIS Network Video Door Station: * AXIS Network Video Door Station with firmware older than the following, will not be compatible when adding to AXIS Camera Station: - A8004-VE/A8105-E with firmware: 1.65.4 - A8207-VE with firmware: 1.92.1 - To be able to add a new door station, please upgrade its firmware. * If someone calls from a door station while voice communication is already in progress (push-to-talk), the door station will get stuck calling, while the call is still ongoing. AXIS T85 PoE+ Network Switch Series: * Password must be set in the T85 webpage. It’s not possible to set the password on T85xx series from within AXIS Camera Station. AXIS T8705 Decoder: * The decoder does not support: camera with permission error, maps, web pages, sequence in split views, hotspots. * Any AXIS Camera Station user with access to live view can send views to the decoder. * Camera and decoder must be added to the same server. * Corridor format is limited to the height supported by the decoder * Stream reuse on ACS server does not apply to the streams used by the decoder. * Currently no native support of stopping the decoder from streaming of the current view. * Support for third-party cameras is limited and is to a great extend untested. * Decoder specific user account used on Axis Cameras are not applicable to third-party cameras. * Hence third-party cameras will be using root credentials for T8705. * AXIS M7011 needs to be configured to use same streaming profile for high, medium and low to be supported by both AXIS Camera Station and AXIS T8705. 2N Devices: * 2N IP Intercom products door station support: - Requires firmware 2.30 or later - Device management through AXIS Camera Station is not supported.
